POLYQUENCH VLB is a water-soluble quenching polymer that, depending on its concentration, mimics the behavior of quenching oil.

It is specifically designed for quenching high-alloy steels and cast irons, where environmental or economic constraints prevent the use of traditional quenching oils.

Application

POLYQUENCH VLB enhances cooling uniformity, preventing film boiling on treated parts.

It is specially formulated for high-alloy ferrous materials, forming a thin and uniform film on the surface that reduces thermal gradients between the surface and core, particularly during the martensitic transformation phase. This results in lower residual stresses, reducing the risks of cracking and deformation.

The film remains effective even at low temperatures, allowing the product to perform similarly to quenching oil at up to 300°C.

Despite being biocide-free, its additive package helps prevent bacterial and fungal growth in the tank, maintaining a clean working environment.

Additionally, POLYQUENCH VLB is formulated to prevent rust-colored staining in the tank, thanks to specific corrosion inhibitors that protect both the equipment and treated materials.

The product operates effectively at temperatures up to 50°C, making it adaptable to specific process requirements.
